Time doesn't reveal itself through milestones. It reveals itself through patterns: the choices repeated, the values kept, the person quietly taking form. Fifty years in, what becomes clear is this: life has never been about arriving. It has always been about becoming.
Becoming curious. Becoming expressive. Becoming brave. Becoming the dream.
Becoming began with attention: to sound, to taste, to form. Music as a way of feeling. Food that anchors memory. Art that challenges perspective. These are not indulgences, but instruments and ways of understanding the world and my place within it, shaping how I see, how I decide, how I evolve.
Becoming has meant holding space for contrast. Classic and contemporary. Stillness and motion. A countryside's calm meeting the pull of abstraction. Running familiar paths with a sense that lifts the spirit, or sitting in silence, letting memory play softly in the background – never with regret, always with gratitude. Each moment another layer, another turn in the road.
And through it all, becoming has been fueled by intention – by challenging norms, by choosing joy, by honoring feeling, by moving forward with both flair and laughter. Not to impress. Not to perform. But to live fully, honestly, and in tune with what truly matters – present, and fully engaged with life as it unfolds.
Celebrating 50 years is not a summation. It is simply a moment to gather, to share space, and to acknowledge the journey still unfolding.
Welcome, my friends.
Welcome to the continuing joy of becoming.
